A fire razed the premises of DXSP 96.1 One FM, an FM radio station owned and operated by Radio Corporation of the Philippines.

Reports from Surigao City Police Office and Surigao City Fire Marshall Office said the fire broke out at about 8:30 pm on March 11 and was put out within 40 minutes the same day.

The station’s office is located on the 4th floor of Yuipco building on Navarro Street in Surigao City.

An  initial investigation showed that the fire originated from the electrical outlet it the office of the station manager.

Initial damage to property was estimated at almost $45,000 (2 million Philippine Pesos).
