Former England and Manchester United player and current West Ham United coach, Teddy Sherringham joined an all-star team for the finale of ‘Rev-kan Your Padang’ on Saturday in Malaysia.

The event, a joint initiative by Revive Isotonic, Pepsi saw Astro Radio personalities play against local celebrities and former national players.

As part of the initiative, listeners could register their own team to play in the matches, and win a makeover for their local padang (field or pitch).

The action-packed match, held at Padang Awam Semenyih, Selangor, was attended by many fans, who also got to win cool gadgets worth up to $3111 (RM10,000).

Led by Dr. Jake Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Astro Radio, the All Star Team was made up of Teddy Sheringham, Astro Radio announcers – Adi and Ray from ERA fm, Jym from MY FM, Ram from THR Raaga and Arnold from hitzfm.

Other players were former national footballers K.Sanbagamaranand HasnizamUzir and several Malaysian music artistes, such as Faizal Tahir, SyarifSleeq, Thomas, Black, SyahrolShiro and Fiz Mentor.

“Malaysians are avid football fans just as we are, and since it is football season, we wanted to reach out to the fans at ground level,” said Dr. Jake Abdullah.
