China Radio International (CRI) and Pakistan’s Roots Millennium Schools (RMS) selected two school kids from Pakistan to participate at the summer camp held by CRI in Beijing.

According to the Pakistan Observer, CRI has been involved in promoting Mandarin across Pakistan with RMS via its Chinese language program called CRI-Roots Confucius Classroom.

The initiative includes Chinese language classes in the core school curriculum in Pakistan.

More than 5000 students from Grade 1 to 7 have enrolled in and are taught by a team of trained Chinese teachers through CRI’s support.

As a part of the program, Ayesha Aamir from RMS Capital Campus and Mahwash Mansoor from Millennium Campus, Islamabad were selected along with 19 other participants from 11 countries to spend two weeks in Beijing and Huangshan, respectively.

The summer camp offered them an opportunity to learn aboutChina’s culture, history, cuisine, development and urbanization.

They also got a chance to visit the Great Wall of China and ‘The Bird’s Nest’ – the national stadium which hosted the 2008 Olympics.
