Radio Foorti launches new app

Bangladesh’s largest private radio network, Radio Foorti 88 FM launched its ‘Foorti App’ last week, reports the Dhaka Tribune.

The app is available on iTunes store as well as Google Play and will enable listeners to tune in to the station from their tab or smart phone.

With its launch, the station hopes to be more accessible to audiences all over the world.

Speaking at a press conference during the launch, a station official told the publication: “The app opens the door to a world of possibilities for showcasing Bangladeshi brands and products to the global audience.”

Radio Foorti launched in September 2006 and is available in eight cities including Dhaka and Chittagong.

While around a third of Bangladesh’s 157 million population has an internet connection, less than 10 percent of the population use mobile internet at present.
