Malaysia’s Astro Radio stations Era FM, My FM and Hitz FM have joined hands with mobile operator U Mobile to offer free music streaming.

As a part of the promotion, customers will be able to stream unlimited radio and music programs from these services.

U Mobile says it is the first and only telco in the market to offer FREE data for music streaming

Once the promotional period ends, users can continue to access the service at less than $1 (MYR 3) per month.

They’ll be able to listen to Astro Radio stations, via their apps, without exhausting their data plans.

“Studies show that 38% of Malaysian youths stream music on their mobile devices, with music and radio apps listed in the Top 5 Apps. By being the first and only telco to offer free data for music streaming to our customers, it resonates well with the current market demands, as well as our strategy in providing more value-added services to our customers.” said Jasmine Lee, Chief Marketing Officer of U Mobile Sdn Bhd.

The promotion runs until May 15 2015.
