India’s national broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) is holding a National Symposium of Poets / Sarva Bhasha Kavi Sammelan, 2015, in Bhuvaneshwar – the capital of the eastern state of Odisha.
The annual event on January 15 simultaneously broadcasts in all 22 recognised Indian languages on AIR’s regional stations of All India Radio with Hindi as its common link language.
Introduced in 1956, it offers a platform to eminent poets of different regional languages of India while paying a tribute to the diverse lingual and cultural spectrum of subcontinent.
A two-hour long recording of the programme will be broadcast on, January 25, the eve of India’s Republic Day. at 10 pm on the AIR’s national network.
