RTHK Radio 3’s Pinoy Life wins prestigious award

Pinoy Life, a programme on Radio Television Hong Kong’s (RTHK) Radio 3, recently won an award at the 2014 Migration Advocacy and Media (MAM) Awards.

In its fourth year, the MAM awards recognize the media’s role in raising public awareness on issues related to Filipino migration.

Pinoy Life was given the Best Radio Award (Regular) at the award ceremony held on International Migrants Day in December at Quezon City in Philippines.

The show is hosted by musician Aileen Alonzo and freelance journalist Jun Concepcion.

It airs every Sunday on Radio 3 and addresses issues concerning overseas Filipinos employed as household service workers in Hong Kong.

The MAM Awards were judged by a panel including members from Philippine Migrants Rights Watch, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Philippines Information Agency and National Press Club of the Philippines.
