Daphne Nasir joins Capital Breakfast

Malaysia’s first English female radio station Capital FM has roped in Daphne Nasir as its new breakfast host.

Nasir – who is also a host, script writer and TV producer – was one of the first female radio announcers in the country in the 90’s.

She will be hosting Capital Breakfast on weekdays from 6 am to 10 am, offering infotainment targeted at listeners between 25 and 34 years of age.

Capital FM broadcasts on 88.9 FM in Klang Valley and on 107.6 FM in Penang.

It commands 56,000 listeners per week and most of them are career women.

Daphne Nasir said: “It feels good to back after a long hiatus. But there is definitely a lot for me to catch up to.”

Nisha Sundrum, Capital FM’s Assistant Manager said: “We are glad to have Daphne on board with us. We believe that her experience and talent will be able to bring the show to the next level.”
