Indonesian station renews Asia Pop 40 contract

Indonesia’s Prambors Radio network has confirmed that it will continue airing the three-hour weekly-syndicated chart show Asia Pop 40 on Saturdays and Sundays each week.

Asia Pop 40 is the first locally-produced, regionally-syndicated radio chart countdown show produced specifically for Asian audiences.

Launched in 2013, the show is now heard in over 20 markets across Asia.

Its English version is hosted by Asian media personality Dom Lau and the Mandarin version is hosted by Malaysian-born actor, singer-songwriter and radio celebrity Max Lim.

In Indonesia, Asia Pop 40 airs twice weekly in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, Solo, Makassar, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Batam and Bintang.

Prambors Radio’s Programming Director, Girindra ‘Okki’ Prabowo, commented: “We love that Asia Pop 40 is more relevant for our listeners than imported chart shows, and the ratings results have proved that Asia Pop 40 has struck the right chord with Prambors Radio’s music lovers. We have supported Asia Pop 40 for nearly two years as we see the show as an important development in localised Asian radio.”

The CEO & Executive Producer of Singapore-based EON Media Group, which produces Asia Pop 40, Rob Graham said: “Prambors are one of our biggest supporters from virtually the very beginning of Asia Pop 40. They saw the potential of AP40 are we are thrilled that their improved ratings have resulted in them renewing our contract.”
